In the early months of 2003 FPMR was approached by the leadership of Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). CCI is a not-for-profit credentialing agency which administers credentialing examinations for cardiovascular associate professionals, including cardiovascular technologists and nurses, who work in the fields of cardiac ultrasound, vascular ultrasound and cardiac catheterization laboratories.
CCI’s leaders were familiar with FMPR’s work with organizations such as the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) as well as staff relationships with organizations such as the American College of Cardiology (ACC). FPMR’s reputation as a financially sound organization and an Association Management Company (AMC) with a proven track record of rebuilding struggling organizations gave confidence to the CCI leadership when choosing FPMR as their new management firm.
FPMR took over the operations of CCI in March 2003. At that time, the organization had assets totaling under $40K, was administering fewer than 2,000 examinations per year and had less than 7,000 credential holders. After the implementation of a new management structure, transitioning the organization to a computer based testing (CBT) administration format, rebuilding prior relationships, developing new relationships with related organizations, and capitalizing on FPMRs technological resources, the organization has grown to an organization with over $1.5M in assets, over 15,000 credential holders, they have earned ANSI/ISO 17024 accreditation and recently became the administrators of the ONLY credential now recognized by the American College Cardiology (ACC) for non-physician and nurses.
