All users must have a permissible purpose under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to obtain a consumer report. Specifically, two of these permissible purposes cover FirstPoint, Inc. Background screening services customers: 1. for employment purposes, including hiring and promotion decisions, where the consumer has given written permission and
2. For tenant
screening, the permissible purpose code used would be “when there is a
legitimate business need in connection with a business transaction that is
initiated by the consumer.”.
